The right interview location isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating the best conditions for clear audio, beautiful lighting, and a confident, professional look. Here’s what to keep in mind:
1. Control Over Sound
The biggest challenge in most locations isn’t the look—it’s the noise. We need a quiet space with minimal background distractions—minimal office chatter, ringing phones, HVAC hum, or street noise. A room with a door is ideal. Open offices and high-traffic areas rarely work well.
2. Room Size and Layout
We bring professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment, all of which require space. Small rooms often don’t provide enough space for the lighting setup that might be needed or depth for a visually interesting shot. A medium-to-large space gives us flexibility to frame the subject in a more cinematic way.
3. Lighting is Everything
Lighting can make or break an interview. We bring a full lighting kit to every shoot, allowing us to shape the light the way we want for the most natural, flattering look. The key to this is having control over existing room lighting—being able to turn fixtures on or off as needed so we’re not locked into whatever’s already there.
By keeping these factors in mind, we can create an interview setting that looks and sounds incredible. Need help selecting a space? We’re happy to advise.
