A stock-footage skyline. A handful of professionally smiling actors. A voiceover from a guy who narrates everything from car commercials to colonoscopy ads. That's not us. And if you're reading this page, that's probably not what you're looking for either.
Storyteller Studios is an Emmy® Award-winning video production company. We've spent thirteen years building documentary-style brand films, recruitment videos, customer story films, and anniversary documentaries for purpose-driven companies across 23 states. The thread connecting all of them is the same. Real people, on camera, telling real stories.
That's the part most production shops can't or won't do. It takes patience. It takes a crew that knows how to make somebody comfortable in front of a lens. It takes editors who can find the moment in two hours of interview footage that says everything in twelve seconds. It's harder, slower, and more expensive than the alternative. It also lasts.
We're calling it Storyteller Small Batch. And if you're in business in Springfield or Sangamon County with 25 or fewer employees, it's for you.
"From start to finish, we had an excellent experience with Storyteller Studios. Every step of the project was seamless due to their talented team. Our videos turned out incredible and impactful, better than we could imagine."

Do you only work with nonprofits?
No. About half our work is for purpose-driven for-profit companies. The other half is nonprofits and faith-based organizations. The approach is the same.
Where are you based, and how far do you travel?
We're based in Springfield, Illinois, with primary markets in Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Kansas City. We've shot in 23 states and two countries. We travel.
How long does a typical project take?
Most corporate video projects run six to twelve weeks from kickoff to final delivery. Larger campaigns or multi-shoot projects take longer. We give you a real timeline before you commit.
Can you write a script for us?
We can, but we usually don't. Documentary-style video doesn't run on scripts. Real interviews produce better content than read voiceover. If you need scripted content, we can help, and we'll be honest about whether it's the right format.
Do you use AI in any part of your process?
We use it where it helps and avoid it where it hurts. AI is useful for transcription, organizing footage, and back-end project management. We don't use AI to generate scripts, voiceover, on-camera talent, or imagery. The story your audience watches is built from your actual people.
Who's on the crew?
Our crew. Producers, directors, cinematographers, and editors who all work together full-time. We don't subcontract to local freelancers and add a markup.
